What Is iTrace?

The iTrace is diagnostic tool unlike anything else on the market. It’s designed for the quick delivery information to surgeons and their teams to choose the right course of vision correction, increase premium lens conversion rate, accurately evaluate toric lens alignment, and provide their patients with the best possible visual results with the wide variety of the newest IOL technology.

How Does it Work?

The iTrace is a 5-in-1 multitool that’s more just than the sum of its parts. It’s the only device on the market using true Ray Tracing aberrometry in conjunction with Placido-based corneal topography to produce amazing benefits for your practice, including…

  • The ability to identify the source of vision errors and remove the guesswork out of planning vision correction
  • A platform for educating patients on their vision issues and building value for procedures using premium and toric IOLs
  • A suite of tools for surgical planning, including ultra-precise IOL calculations, and a way to easily preview post-operative vision in the exam room for patients
  • Post-operative tools to review IOL placement and identify opportunities for improvement — without needing to dilate

If you want better outcomes AND better incomes, it doesn’t matter what other technology you have in your practice: iTrace is essential.

How Is it Used?

The iTrace helps you see exactly what your patient is seeing with our latest proprietary display, the iTrace Prime Dashboard. This user-friendly readout helps you identify the source of errors in your patients’ vision between cornea and the lens and as a function of total vision and puts the key measurements you’ll need for planning surgery in one simple software screen!

New with iTrace Version 7.0 — iTrace Prime — Tear Film Analysis involves 12-second Topo breakup time (TBUT) and tear quality analysis immediately after a blink. This exam generates an objective Tear Film Index (TFI™) score and can help identify ocular surface issues that need to be addressed before surgery.

Using the iTrace, you can decide if either refractive surgery or lens replacement is the right next step in a given case. Ultra-precise measurements and proprietary tools such as the Toric Planner and Osher Ring can improve precision in lens-based surgeries.

After surgery, the iTrace’s Toric Alignment Check tool can give you a clear indication of the final position and power of a toric lens without the need for dilation. If the lens is off axis, the iTrace will calculate the exact degree of correction needed for optimal vision or make an alternative plan if the lens is off-power.

What Users Are Saying:

“Every patient going in for a cataract evaluation has to have the iTrace before and after surgery from a post-op perspective to understand how they’re doing, especially if they’re not happy.”

Dr. Inder Paul Singh

“Whether its preoperatively and wanting to know in advance which patients are going to have optical issues with their cornea, or postoperatively if the patient is unhappy with their vision for any reason, sure we’re going to look at the macula with an OCT but also look very carefully for corneal aberrations with an iTrace.”

Dr. David F. Chang

“The iTrace has really helped us to triage between corneal and lens-based procedures in a really easy way that is relatable to patients. We can sit with them in an exam room and within two minutes talk to them about the dysfunctional lens display, what they’re going to need, why we might not want to do a certain procedure, and everybody’s on the same page.”

Dr. Jesse McKey

“I’ve used the OPD III as well as the iTrace as well as the Topcon KR-1W and they’re all fantastic devices that do similar things. Why I really like the iTrace is the sequential laser beam technology so I’m sure that the wave front is accurate. And what I really like is the educational aspect, the DLI is just so helpful and I find that an amazingly useful tool. So for me, of the three devices, the iTrace would be my go to.”
